Pam’s Famous Scones
A scone is a single-serving quick bread. They are often lightly-sweetened, and are occasionally glazed. The scone is an excellent companion with Tea or a light breakfast.

Ingredients

All Purpose Flour

White Sugar

Baking Powder

Butter or Margarine
(Cold)

Raisins
(Optional. Could substitute with blueberries or cranberries)

Milk 2%
(1% works)

Large Egg
Instructions

Pre-heat oven to 425F. Continue preparing mixture.

In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in raisins and make a well in the center.

In a small bowl, beat egg until frothy. Stir in milk and pour into well.

Knead 8 - 1- times.

With a rolling pin, roll out to about 1/2" thick.

Using a small glass, cut into round shapes.

Place on greased baking sheet.

Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425F for 15 minutes until risen and browned slightly.
