Instructions
-
Prepare dough using white bread recipe. After the 1st rising, use half of the dough to make this recipe.
-
Pre-mix dry ingredients in a small bowl.
-
Roll out dough on a slightly floured surface. Roll to about 1/8"-1/4" thick (thickness will double when cooked).
-
Use hands and spread the butter all over the surface of the dough (Try to leave 1/2" uncovered on the long edge, this will help seal up the cinnamon bun when rolled and cut). The warmth of your hand will help melt the butter to spread easily.
-
Sprinkle the sugar/cinnamon mixture of the entire surface.
-
Roll dough into a log (along the long side). Cut into 1" pieces using a sharp knife or dental floss.
-
Line a 9 x 12 baking dish with parchment paper (you will thank me later, after clean up time). Place cinnamon dough piece even spaced in the disk. Note: overcrowding will cause the bun centers to rise when they cook.
-
Cover with a damp dish cloth or saran wrap, let rise for 45-60 minutes.
Baking
-
Preheat over to 350F.
-
Uncover baking dish, bake for approx 30 minute or until tops are nice and golden. Remove from oven to cool in dish.
-
Allow to cool before frosting.
Frosting
-
In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
-
Beat until smooth and fluffy. Spread over cinnamon rolls and serve immediately. Enjoy!
